A Sheridan High School volleyball player will stay in state to continue playing the game she enjoys.

Kailee Holst has signed a written offer of athletic aid to compete at Gillette College.

This past season she helped the Lady Broncs qualify for the state tournament for the first time in 8 years and helped the team to a 3rd place finish.

Holst says Lady Pronghorn Coach Julia Machin told her that something different was needed on the team, and she fit the bill.

“The Coach actually came to the State Tournament, not to watch our team at all, but she said that I stuck out to her, even though she wasn’t watching our team. She said that her team really needs kind of a fire, someone to bring that passion and she really saw that in me and wanted that to be a part of her team and then when I went out and practiced, she’s like, ‘I knew exactly how it would be and you clicked immediately.'”

Holst adds she is considering majoring in elementary education.
