Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: All that time that the Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey Team spent on the road in the first half of the season is about to be rewarded.
The team starts the second half of the season with a 10-game homestand, which encompasses all of January, as well as the early portions of February.
Up first is a 2-game series vs. Butte, and as far as the playoffs are concerned, the Irish are a team on the outside looking in, but they’re not that far behind, with some time remaining.
Hawks Head Coach J.J. Santagata says Butte is in a similar spot that Sheridan was in this time last year.
The puck drops tonight and tomorrow night at 7:30.
High School Wrestling Point Changes: There’s been some changes this season with the scoring system.
Takedowns are now worth 3 points instead of 2 and a wrestler can now earn up to 4 points on a near fall.
Also, the out of bounds rule changed.
Both wrestlers are now considered in bounds as long as 1 wrestler has a point of contact within the boundary line.
Sheridan Girls Head Coach Marcie Lane says the changes make getting a tech fall a little bit easier and it changes a wrestlers’ strategy.
The Sheridan Girls Wrestling Team is back in action today and tomorrow at a tournament in Bozeman, MT.
The Sheridan boys return to competition next weekend at Douglas.
Sheridan HS Nordic Ski: Sheridan will compete today and tomorrow at a meet in Pinedale.
Next weekend, the Broncs and Lady Broncs will have their first ever home meet on Cutler Hill.
University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys will try to even up their Mountain West Conference record tomorrow at Air Force.
Tip off is scheduled for 3pm and you can hear the game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.
The Wyoming Cowgirls are looking to go 2-0 in conference play tomorrow, when they visit Fresno State.
Tip off is also scheduled for 3pm and you can hear that game LIVE on Fox Sports 106.3 FM.
Denver Broncos Football: It’s do or die time for the Denver Broncos.
The team hosts Kansas City this Sunday in the regular season finale.
Kickoff is scheduled for 2:25pm.
A win or a tie and the Broncos are in the playoffs as the final AFC wild card team and will head to Buffalo for their first round game.
Kansas City has already secured the #1 seed for the playoffs, and a first round bye.
The only thing the Chiefs have to play for as far as the playoffs are concerned, is to possibly play the spoiler role and try to keep Denver out.
The Broncos can still make the playoffs with a loss, provided 2 other things happen.
The first is, Cincinnati has to lose or tie tomorrow night at Pittsburgh.
The second is, Miami has to lose or tie on Sunday at the New York Jets, and that game kicks off at the same time that Kansas City and Denver kicks off their game.
You can hear the Broncos game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: What a comeback last night for the Colorado Avalanche.
Down 5-3 at home vs. Buffalo, and playing with an empty net with 2 ½ minutes to go, the Avs found ways to score twice, including the tying goal with 6 seconds remaining in regulation, and then got a breakaway goal 48 seconds into the overtime period, to win 6-5.
Colorado is back in action tomorrow at home vs. Montreal, starting at 5pm.
