A 3-time All-State Golfer from Sheridan High School, will continue to play at the college level not far from home.
Shelbi Gardner has signed a written offer of athletic aid to compete at Black Hills State University.
She is this year’s 4A Girls State Runner-Up and placed 3rd last year.
Gardner says she’s been playing golf since she was 3 years old and adds the Black Hills State Coaching Staff was also interested in what kind of person she is, off the golf course.
“I think definitely just my stats as a golfer, but then also me as a person. The coach is big on golf is just something that we do, it’s not everything at that school and not everything that I’ll do, and so as a person before the golfer.”
She says she is undecided on a major, but is thinking about either business or marketing.
