Tongue River Girls Cross Country Team Wins 2024 State Championship; BH Girls 2nd; Sheridan Boys 4th; Buffalo Boys And Girls 2nd And 3rd

The TR Girls won the tie-breaker vs. BH to win their second cross country state championship (the other was in 2020) at the 2024 State Meet in Cheyenne.

Runners who finish in the top 10 of their respective race earn All-State honors.


2A Girls:

Both Tongue River and Big Horn had a 4-person team score of 32 points.

The tie-breaker is which teams’ 5th runner, finished ahead of the other.

TR had a 5th runner, while BH didn’t.

Lyla Marney of Big Horn is the 2A Girls State Champ with a time of 19 minutes 45.28 seconds.

Teagan Butler of BH was 3rd.

Laken Walker and Addie Perkins finished 4th and 5th respectively for the Lady Eagles.

2A Boys:

Cameron Guelde of Big Horn finished 6th, to lead the Rams to a 5th place finish.

Tongue River was 6th.

Shaun Gonda finished 9th to help Sheridan to a 4th place finish

Kayley Alicke finished 9th to help Sheridan to a 7th place finish.

3A Boys:

Zach Freise, Ethan Rayo and Cole Rasuson finished 2nd, 3rd and 8th respectively, to lead Buffalo to a 2nd place finish (1 point behind Worland)

Ellie Farris and Maya Hall finished 4th and 5th respectively to lead Buffalo to a 3rd place finish.
