Sheridan/Big Horn/Tongue River HS Football Recaps: The Sheridan Bronc Football team have put themselves into the history books.
This past Friday, the team won at Natrona 29-7, to win their 34th straight game, which ties the record for the longest winning streak in Wyoming High School Football history.
Sheridan ran the opening kickoff back for a touchdown and led 6-nothing after 1 quarter.
Natrona would score on the first play of the second quarter to go ahead 7-6, but the Broncs didn’t stay down long as the team would dominate the rest of the quarter, and took a 29-7 lead into halftime.
Neither team scored in the second half as Sheridan would pick up the W.
Head Coach Jeff Mowry says there were some mistakes made, and the Mustangs defense kept changing things up, which led to times when the Broncs did not adjust accordingly.
Sheridan returns home this Friday with a chance to make history.
Cheyenne East will provide the opposition.
It just so happens, the Thunderbirds were the last team to beat the Broncs, back in 2021.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm.
Elsewhere in Sheridan County, Sophomore Cruz Hernandez scored 4 touchdowns, while senior Avon Barney threw for 3 TD’s and ran 1 in, and sophomore Bridger Doke caught 2 TD’s and threw for 1 of his own, as Big Horn shutout visiting Wheatland 55-zip.
Tongue River scored on their first offensive possession, but couldn’t do much after that, as the Eagles lost at home vs. Burns 18-7.
The Rams and Eagles are both home this Friday.
BH plays Newcastle, while TR goes up against Moorcroft.

Sheridan County HS Volleyball: Sheridan started 4A East Conference play this past weekend with 2 big wins at home.
The Lady Broncs beat Cheyenne East 3-1, and Cheyenne Central 3-2.
Up next is the Casper Invitational this coming Friday and Saturday.
The Big Horn and Tongue River volleyball teams both went 7-0 this past weekend at the Big Horn Invitational vs. opponents from the 2A West.
Up next, BH will head to the Casper Invitational, while TR will visit Sundance on Friday and play their home opener on Saturday vs. Lovell.
Arvada-Clearmont ended up going 0-6 this past weekend at the 1A Invitational at Saratoga.
The Lady Panthers next play Thursday on the road against the Buffalo JV team, as well as Friday at Kaycee and Saturday at Hulett.

Sheridan County HS Golf: Tongue River was at the 2-day Lusk Invitational this past weekend.
Easton Lewis placed 3rd in the boys competition, while Savannah Tremain was 2nd on the girls side.
This coming Friday and Saturday are the Wyoming High School State Golf Meets.
Sheridan will be at the 4A State Meet at Star Valley, while TR and BH will co-host the 2A State Meet at Kendrick Golf Course.
Sheridan HS Tennis: The Sheridan boys won both matches this past Saturday in their home finale vs. Thunder Basin and Campbell County, while the girls split.
Due to weather concerns later in the week, the schedule for the upcoming North Regional Tournament at Natrona, has been moved up and will play this coming Wednesday and Thursday, instead of Friday and Saturday.
Sheridan County HS Cross Country: Big Horn and Tongue River ran at the Big Horn Equestrian Center meet this past Friday, while Sheridan was at Bozeman, Montana on Saturday.
This coming Saturday is the Michelle Ludwig Invitational which is scheduled to take place at the Sheridan VA.
Sheridan HS Girls Swimming and Diving: Sheridan placed 4th out of 7 teams this past Saturday at the Natrona County Invitational.
The Lady Broncs will host a dual vs. Thunder Basin this coming Friday and then on Saturday they will host TB along with both Casper teams.
Sheridan Hawks Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks won both ends of a home-and-home series this past weekend vs. Gillette.
On Friday the team won on the road by shutout, 3-zip, and then played in their home opener on Saturday and won 5-2.
The Hawks are currently 3-1 on the season and next play this coming Friday and Saturday at Cody.
University Of Wyoming Football: The Wyoming Cowboys lost at home vs. BYU this past weekend 34-14.
Quarterback Evan Svoboda was 14 of 32 passing for 140 yards and 1 interception.
He ran for both of UW’s touchdowns.
The Pokes rushing game only accounted for 77 yards.
The Cougars outgained the Cowboys yardage wise 458-217, and returned the 2nd half kickoff 100 yards for a score.
Wyoming is now 0-3 on the season and next play this coming Saturday at North Texas.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5pm.
Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos lost their home opener yesterday vs. Pittsburgh 13-6.
Two field goals from Will Lutz were all the points that Denver could muster.
Quarterback Bo Nix was 20 of 35 passing for 246 yards and he was picked off twice.
Like the Wyoming Cowboys, the Broncos’ rushing game was also nowhere to be found as 4 players combined for only 64 yards.
Denver also had 124 yards in penalties.
The teams’ next game is this coming Sunday at Tampa Bay.
Kickoff is scheduled for 11am.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies won 2 out of 3 games at home this past weekend vs. the Chicago Cubs.
On Friday, the Rocks won 9-5.
Hunter Goodman had a good night, as he hit both a 2-run home run and a grand slam, the latter of which made the difference in the game.
7 RBI’s total.
Ezequiel Tovar had a solo shot of his own.
On Saturday, Colorado won 6-5 in 10 innings.
Michael Toglia hit a solo home run and Sam Hilliard provided a 2-run shot in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game.
Brenton Doyle provided the walk-off RBI single.
Yesterday, the Rockies lost 6-2.
Jacob Stallings went yard on his own.
Today the Rockies start a 3-game series at home vs. Arizona.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm.
