Sheridan Broncs Football: Practice continues for the Sheridan Bronc football team as players work on technique and light contact drills.

Things will get a little more interesting tomorrow, when they can put the pads on.

Head Coach Jeff Mowry says he along with the rest of the coaches are trying to figure out what kind of talent and skill they have to work with, before a game plan can be put together.

Senior Kelten Crow says players on this year’s team are well aware of what talent was lost to graduation and the plan this year is to put their own identity together.

The season for the Broncs starts on Friday, August 30th at home vs. Cheyenne South.

Chris Prosinski Football Camp At Buffalo: Some youngsters recently learned how a pro gets the job done.

More than 100 kids showed up at Clear Creek Middle School in Buffalo for a 1-day football camp, put on by Buffalo High School grad, as well as former University of Wyoming and NFL Football player Chris Prosinski.

When it comes to learning lessons about football or any other sport, coaches may preach the same lessons over and over again, but Prosinski says sometimes a pro can offer a different perspective on a lesson, and that different perspective could be all that’s needed to get the lesson to stick in an athlete’s head.

Prosinski spent his professional career playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears.

Sheridan County High School Golf: Sheridan starts competition today at a 2-day meet at Powell.

Next week the team will host the Sheridan Invitational at the Kendrick Golf Course on Wednesday and Thursday.

Big Horn and Tongue River are scheduled to start their golf seasons, next week Friday.

Sheridan Jets Legion Baseball: Five players from the Sheridan Jets played in the A-League All-Star Game this past weekend at Green River.

Dom Destefano’s grand slam in the 13th inning made the difference as the East defeated the West 19-17.

He was named the MVP for the game.

Other Jets that participated included Gunnar Lamb, Ethan Evans, Cash Kula and Peyton Ormseth.

Lamb recently won A-League 2nd team All-State honors.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost last night in walkoff fashion at Arizona 4-3.

Today the Rocks will try to avoid a 3-game sweep.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:40pm.

Tomorrow is an off day and then the team returns home to start a 3-game series on Friday vs. San Diego.
