Sheridan Troopers/Jets/Cavalry Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball team knows that they’ll be the #4 seed in next week’s AA State Tournament at Casper.
What’s unclear is which team will be their first round opponent, what time will that game be and what does the rest of the bracket look like.
There are a pair of double-headers today featuring Casper at Cheyenne and Laramie at Rock Springs.
The outcomes of those games will have an impact on first round pairings.
The Troopers last played this past Sunday, and this coming Thursday’s games against the 406 Flyers out of Billings has been canceled, so the team will have a full week off from competition, to prepare for the state tournament.
Coach Austin Cowen says that can be good in some ways, and he has a few ideas on how to make sure the players don’t get too rested.
The AA State Bracket should be ready sometime tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the A-League State Tournament starts Saturday at Powell.
The Sheridan Jets will play Cody in the first round.
Start time of that game is to be announced.
The Sheridan Cavalry will play in the B State Tournament beginning Thursday at Torrington.
The team will take on Riverton in the first round, starting at 1pm.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies went 12 innings last night at home against the Boston Red Sox and ended up winning 9-8.
Charlie Blackmon’s 2-run home run helped the Rocks jump out to a 4-nothing lead, but the opposition would eventually tie the game at 5.
In the 10th, Boston scored 2 runs, but Sam Hillard would answer with a 2-run shot to even things up at 7.
The Red Sox scored 1 in the top of the 12th, but in the bottom of the 12th, Jake Cave delivered an RBI single to tie the game at 8, and then Ezequiel Tovar delivered a walk off RBI single with the bases loaded to win it.
