Sheridan HS Basketball Players Named All-Conference/All-State: Three Sheridan Broncs and two Lady Bronc basketball players received post-season recognition from the Wyoming Coaches Association and from 4A East Coaches.

For the boys Truman DeGrange, Cael Hamrick, and Garrett Spielman were named 4A East All-Conference, while Hamrick and Spielman also received all-state honors.

Hamrick is now a 2-time all-state selection.

For the girls, Adeline Burgess and Mesa Hanft were named both all-conference and all-state.

Sheridan HS Girls Basketball Team finally beat Campbell County: It took 4 tries, but the Sheridan Lady Bronc Basketball team finally figured out how to beat Campbell County, and the result was a state championship.

The Lady Broncs lost at Campbell County in the first quadrant game of the season in middle January, lost to the Lady Camels at home one month later, and 2 weeks after that, they lost at home again in the regional championship game.

Junior Avery McMullen says a lot was learned in those 3 losses and on the 4th try, Sheridan finally got it right.

Senior Alli Ligocki says looking at where teams ended up in the bracket before the state tournament started, and how it all eventually played out, losing that regional championship game vs. Campbell County might have been a blessing in disguise.

Sheridan finished the season with a record of 21-6.

Changes In Outdoor Track and Field and Boys Soccer Schedule: The Wyoming High School Spring Sports season starts this weekend and there’s been a few changes to the schedule.

Friday’s outdoor track and field meet that was supposed to take place at Buffalo, will now be held at Sheridan, beginning at 2:30pm.

It will be a 3-team meet between Sheridan, Buffalo and Thunder Basin.

Saturday’s boys soccer game start times have been moved up 1 hour.

The JV will start at 9am and the varsity game starts at 11am.

The reason for the change in start time is to allow Buffalo players to get home a little sooner, in order to attend a teacher’s funeral.

There is no change in the start times of Saturday’s girls soccer games at Buffalo.

The JV starts at 10am and the varsity at 12-noon.

University Of Wyoming Basketball: The Men’s Mountain West Conference tournament starts today in Las Vegas and the Wyoming Cowboys are first up.

The Pokes take on Fresno State at 12-noon, and you can hear that game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

As for the rest of today’s tournament schedule, at 2:30pm San Jose State plays Colorado State, and at 5pm it’s Air Force vs. New Mexico.

Once that game is over, the women’s Mountain West Conference Championship game will be played.

At 8:30pm it’s UNLV vs. San Diego State.

Yesterday in the semi-finals, the Lady Rebels defeated Colorado State 62-52, and the Lady Aztecs beat Boise State 72-69.

Colorado Rockies Pre-Season Baseball: The Colorado Rockies won at home yesterday vs. Kansas City 4-2.

Coco Montes hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 2nd inning and then Rockies’ pitching took care of the rest.

Colorado plays today at Arizona beginning at 2:10pm.

Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won last night at Calgary 6-2.

The Avs play again tonight at Vancouver.
