High Schools within Sheridan and Johnson Counties will be well represented at a big fund-raiser game in June.
A total of 11 players from Sheridan, Big Horn, Tongue River and Buffalo High Schools were selected as part of the North Team for the 2024 Wyoming Shrine Bowl Football Game.
The game is considered an all-star game with the best players from the North, going up against the best players from the South, and it’s also a fundraiser for the Shriner’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The players are: (Seniors ONLY)
Sheridan: Dominick Berrettini, DJ Elchlinger, Alex Haswell, Dane Steel
Big Horn: Kiefer Dunham, Drew Heermann, Gavin Stafford
Tongue River: Caleb Kilbride
Buffalo: Will Hammond, Eli Patterson, Lance Rabel
Tanner Gillette of Buffalo will be the North trainer.
Nadeen Dunham of Buffalo and Carsyn Thompson of Big Horn were selected as North Student Trainers.
The North Team is coached by Rob Hammond of Buffalo.
Ross Walker of Buffalo will be an assistant coach.
The North leads the series 26-20-3, but the South won last year.
This year’s Wyoming Shrine Bowl Football game is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 8th at Natrona County High School in Casper.
Practice starts on June 1st.
