Sheridan HS Girls Basketball Team Starts 4A State Tournament: The 4A Girls Basketball State Tournament starts today in Casper, and Sheridan is first up.
The Lady Broncs tip off at 9am in the first round at Casper College, against the only 4A team they have not played this season…Rock Springs.
The Lady Tigers currently have the 3rd best defense in 4A, giving up a little more than 36 points per game.
Sheridan is right behind them at #4 giving up a little more than 40 points per game.
Offensively, Rock Springs has the 5th worst offense in 4A, scoring 38 points per game, while the Lady Broncs have the 2nd best offense, scoring a little more than 55 points per game.

Tongue River HS Girls Basketball: After losing their first 2 games of the season, the Lady Eagles put together a 17-game win streak heading into the final week of the regular season.
Then Sundance paid them a visit and brought TR back down to earth.

In the State Championship Game, Tongue River had an 8 point lead late in the game, but Lingle-Fort Laramie would cut it to 3 with less than 30 seconds to go.

Sheridan Nordic Skier To Compete At National Championship: A Sheridan Sophomore is going to compete against some of the best in the country.
Kayley Alicke will compete later this month at the US Ski and Snowboard Cross Country Junior National Championship at Lake Placid, New York.
She will join 19 other qualified skiers from Wyoming and Montana to make up the High Plains Nordic Team.
Last month at the Nordic Ski State meet, she placed 4th.

High School Spring Sports Practice Starts: The High School Spring Sports season started practice this week.
The Sheridan boys and girls soccer teams play their first game 1 week from tomorrow with a double-header at Worland.
The following day, the teams will play Buffalo, with the boys at home and the girls playing on the road.
The Sheridan High School Outdoor Track and Field team will compete in their first competition 1 week from tomorrow at Buffalo.
The Sheridan Maverick Lacrosse teams started practice yesterday.
The first game of the season is scheduled for April 6th.
University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys have nothing to play for this Saturday when they visit Fresno State.
Regardless of which team wins or loses, the Pokes and the Bulldogs will play each other again on Wednesday in the first round of the Mountain West Conference Tournament, which will be played at Las Vegas.
The winner of that game will take on the #1 seed in the quarter-finals.
The Mountain West Conference women’s basketball tournament starts this coming Sunday.
The Wyoming Cowgirls have the #3 seed and a first round bye.
They will play the final game of the day on Monday at 8:30pm Mountain Time, against the winner of Sunday’s game between Boise State and Utah State.
Colorado Rockies Pre-Season Baseball: Yesterday the Colorado Rockies played to a 6-6 tie at home vs. the Texas Rangers.
Since it’s pre-season, games do not go into extra innings.
The Rockies play again today at home vs. Kansas City starting at 1:10pm.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won big last night as they crushed Detroit at home 7-2.
The team is back in action tomorrow at home vs. Minnesota.
