Sheridan HS Basketball; The 4A Basketball Regular season concludes this week and for both the Sheridan boys and girls, they have just 1 game remaining.
That game is the home finale on Friday vs. Natrona.
It’s not going to mean anything to the girls, because regardless win or lose, the Lady Broncs are locked into the #2 seed from the northeast at next weekend’s regional tournament, which Sheridan is hosting.
Coach Ryan Sullivan says the main plan this week is to fine tune a few things, and make sure everything is in good working order for next week.
The girls game is scheduled to tip off on Friday at 5:30pm, and the boys game will follow.
The boys game will determine the #1 and #2 seeds out of the northeast.
Tongue River, Big Horn and Arvada-Clearmont HS Basketball: Both teams from Tongue River and Big Horn are heading to the 2A East Regional Tournament at Burns this week, while the Arvada-Clearmont girls will play in the 1A East Regional Tournament at Laramie.
Action starts Thursday as both TR and BH girls play at 4pm.
The Lady Eagles will play Lusk and that game will be played at Pine Bluffs, while the Lady Rams will take on Burns.
The TR and BH boys both play Thursday at 7pm.
The Eagles play Burns, while the Rams play at Pine Bluffs.
Friday’s schedule and matchups will be dependent on Thursday’s results.
A-C will play Thursday at 12-noon vs. Rock River, who is serving as the host team.
Sheridan County HS Wrestling: The state meet is this week beginning Thursday at 12-noon and the championship matches are scheduled to begin at about 2:15pm on Saturday.
The Sheridan boys are the defending 4A State Champs, while the Sheridan girls placed 3rd in their inaugural season.
Sheridan HS Nordic Skiing: The state meet is this weekend on Casper Mountain.
Last year in their first season as a varsity team the Sheridan boys placed 6th out of 8 teams and the girls were 7th.
Sheridan County HS Track and Field: Sheridan, Tongue River and Big Horn will all compete Thursday at Gillette.
The state meet is next weekend.
University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys are on the court tonight at Nevada.
Tip off is scheduled for 9 o’clock and you can hear that game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.
The Wyoming Cowgirls have a big home tomorrow as they host first-place UNLV.
UW is in a tie for 2nd place in the conference and trail the Lady Runnin’ Rebels by 3 games, with 5 games remaining in the regular season.
Sheridan Hawks Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks will conclude their 7-game road trip this Friday and Saturday with games at Butte.
Sheridan is currently 6 points behind in the chase for the final playoff spot with only 4 games remaining.
The Hawks will return home to conclude the regular season on March 1st and 2nd.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: Pitchers and catchers for the Colorado Rockies reported in last week and today the rest of the team joins in.
The exhibition season starts this coming Friday at home against Arizona at their spring training site in Scottsdale.
