The state meet is next week Thursday and Friday at Laramie.
Sheridan HS Basketball: The Sheridan High School boys team dropped both road games this past weekend at Cheyenne East and at Cheyenne Central.
The Broncs had a 9-point lead at East and ended up losing in overtime, and then the game at Central turned into a 20-point blowout loss.
Coach Jeff Martini says thankfully the 2 losses should not come back to haunt in the standings, and there’s a possibility the teams will meet again in Sheridan at the upcoming regional tournament.
Both the Broncs and Lady Broncs are at home this weekend vs. Cheyenne South on Friday and against Laramie on Saturday.
Tongue River, Big Horn and Arvada-Clearmont HS Basketball: Tongue River only plays 1 game this week, which is Friday at home vs. Wright.

University of Wyoming Basketball: Poor shooting from 3-point land, and poor shooting in the 1st half in general hurt the Wyoming Cowboys as they lost last night at home vs. New Mexico 91-73.
The Pokes were 9 of 32 from the field, in the first 20 minutes, which equates to about 28% and only hit 1 of 12 shots from behind the arc.
Offensively, UW did better in the second half shooting-wise, scoring 48 points, but so did the Lobos as they put up 51 points on the scoreboard.
Brendan Wenzel led the Cowboys with 20 points, Sam Griffin put in 19, Akuel Kot added in 13, and Cam Manyawu came off the bench to add in 12 of his own.
Wyoming’s record is now 12-11 on the season and the team has a 5-5 record in the Mountain West Conference.
The Brown and Gold have this weekend off to prepare for their next game, which is scheduled for 1 week from today at home vs. Utah State.

The Bighorns are in 1st place in the NA3HL’s Frontier Division, and are the only team that Sheridan has not yet visited.
