Sheridan HS Girls Basketball: The Sheridan High School girls basketball team went 1-1 in their first 2 quadrant games against the 4A Northeast this past weekend.

Things did not get off to a good start in Friday’s loss at Campbell County, but the Lady Broncs cleaned up their act on Saturday to beat Thunder Basin.

Head Coach Ryan Sullivan says winning on the road against the Lady Camels is never easy, but at least that trip is out of the way.

Both the Sheridan girls and boys play on Friday at Natrona and are at home on Saturday to take on Worland.

Big Horn, Tongue River and Arvada-Clearmont HS Basketball: Both Big Horn teams are at home on Friday vs. Wright and then play at Rocky Mountain on Saturday.

The Tongue River teams play Thursday at Kaycee and on Saturday at Greybull.

Arvada-Clearmont plays today at home vs. the Campbell County Sophomore team.

The girls play at 4:30pm and the boys game will follow.

The Lady Panthers played in last year’s 1A State tournament and are currently 6-4 on the season.

Things got off on the wrong foot when their returning 2-time all-conference player tore her ACL and meniscus in the second half of the first game of this season.

Head Coach Bo Benth says so far the team has been doing a pretty good job of filling the void.

After today’s games, A-C next plays Friday at Kaycee and on Saturday at Guernsey-Sunrise.

Sheridan County HS Wrestling: Sheridan will compete in a dual on Thursday at Kelly Walsh, and then on Friday and Saturday it’s the annual Ron Thon Invitational at Riverton, which is considered by many to be a preview of the state meet.

The Tongue River wrestlers will compete Saturday at Hardin, Montana.

Sheridan HS Boys Swimming: The Sheridan Broncs will compete in their home finale starting at 4pm today vs. Campbell County and Thunder Basin.

On Friday and Saturday they will swim at Laramie.

Sheridan County Indoor Track and Field: The Sheridan High School Indoor Track and Field team is scheduled to compete on Thursday at Gillette.

The BH and TR teams have this week off from competition.

University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys have received some recognition.

Senior Sam Griffin from Miami, Florida has been named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week.

In Saturday’s home win vs. Nevada, he scored 26 points on 8-of-13 shooting, made 4 3’s and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

Griffin also had 7 assists and 6 rebounds.

UW plays tonight at San Diego State.

Tip off is scheduled for 7pm and you can hear the game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The Wyoming Cowgirls play tomorrow at home vs. Air Force.

Sheridan Hawks Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks have about 1½ months remaining in the season, which equates to 12 games and they are currently 3 points behind in the chase for the final playoff spot.

Now they enter the toughest stretch of their schedule where they play 9 of the next 10 on the road, starting this Friday and Saturday at Rapid City.
