University of Wyoming Basketball: The University of Wyoming Cowboy basketball team copied some of the actions of the football team.

Last night the Pokes were down by 17 points in the 1st half at home vs. San Jose State.

They would rally in the second half and Akuel Kot hit one at the buzzer, and UW would win 75-73 to start Mountain West Conference play.

Sam Griffin would lead all scorers with 23 points.

Oleg Kojenets came off the bench to put in 16.

Kot scored 14 including the buzzer beater.

San Jose State hit 12 3’s in the game, but UW made for it by finding ways to get to the free throw line.

The Brown and gold were 23 of 25 from the charity stripe, while the Spartans were only 9 of 12.

Wyoming’s next game is this Saturday at New Mexico.

Sheridan High School Basketball: Sheridan will be back in action this weekend as they play 3 games at Cheyenne beginning tomorrow.

The schedule makers were kind this weekend as both Sheridan teams will play all of their games at Cheyenne East, instead of having to shuffle between all 3 Cheyenne schools.

On Thursday they play Green River.

The girls tipoff at 3:30pm and the boys will follow.

On Friday Sheridan plays Kelly Walsh beginning at 3pm, and Saturday they take on Evanston beginning at 12 noon.
