Sheridan HS Girls Basketball: The Sheridan Lady bronc basketball team went 4-0 this past weekend in Riverton outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 236-114.
Coach Ryan Sullivan says even though the final scores looked good, it was only the opening weekend of the season, and there’s things to work on.
The Lady Broncs have a gauntlet run this weekend.
On Friday, they host Buffalo, who are last season’s 3A State Runners-Up.
Then on Saturday they visit Cody who are the defending 4A State champs.
Meanwhile the boys will play both the Bison and Cody on the road.
Big Horn and Tongue River Basketball Teams Host Foothills Classic: The Big Horn and Tongue River basketball teams will host the Foothills Classic this weekend.
It starts on Thursday as TR will play Wyoming Indian, and BH will play one of the Sheridan JV teams.
The girls games tip off at 6pm at both places and the boys game will follow.
On Friday, the Rams, Eagles, Lady Rams and Lady Eagles will play twice.
Big Horn will play Wind River beginning at noon, while Tongue River will play Greybull at 3pm.
Later, BH will play Wyoming Indian at 6pm, while TR plays Big Piney at the same time.
On Saturday, the Eagles and Lady Eagles will play Wind River at 11am, while the Rams and Lady Rams play Big Piney.
Arvada-Clearmont HS Basketball: We were able to verify that the girls did beat Meeteetse this past weekend, so they are 1-1 so far this season.
This Friday, A-C is scheduled to play at Ten Sleep, although there is some question as to whether the Lady Pioneers have a team or not, so the road trip might be for the boys only.
Alli Ligocki Signs Basketball NLI At Montana State Billings: The season just started and one Sheridan High School player doesn’t have to worry if her senior season will impact college recruiters.
Alli Ligocki has signed her National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play basketball at Montana State Billings.
Last year she was an all-state selection, averaging 8.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, while shooting 49% on the season.
Ligocki says the Lady Yellowjacket coaches saw something in her that they liked, and in turn, she saw something in the program that interested her, thus it was a good fit.
Ligocki adds she had also been considering Miles Community College in Montana and North Idaho College.
She is considering majoring in either criminal justice or english.
Sheridan Boys Swimming: Sheridan will compete this afternoon at a quad meet in Buffalo against the Bison and the Gillette teams.
This weekend they will be at Casper.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: Denver Nuggets won on the road last night against Atlanta 129-122.
They are back in action tonight at Chicago.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche scored 3 goals in the 3rd period to win at home vs. Calgary 6-5.
The Avs next play tomorrow at home vs. Buffalo.
