Thanks to two 3rd places finishes, the Sheridan College Women’s Rodeo team placed 2nd at the 2023 Casper College Rodeo Competition this past weekend (April 14th-16th).
Joey Carley placed 3rd in the breakaway roping with a time of 6.5 seconds on 2, and was 3rd in the barrel racing with a time of 29.15 seconds on 2.
The two 3rd place finishes were enough for her to finish 2nd in the cowgirl all-around category.
Callie Aamot placed 4th in the barrel racing with a time of 29.22 seconds on 2.
For the Sheridan men, Joseph Priebe won the saddle bronc event with a score of 139 on 2, to help the team finish 7th overall.
With one rodeo remaining in the 2022-2023 regular season, one cowboy is a lock to go to the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, while another is on the bubble.
Clancy Glenn already has first place in the Central Rocky Mountain Region saddle bronc event locked up.
Wyatt Phelps is in 4th place in the bull riding, trailing 3rd by 15 points.
The top 3 individuals in the standings at the end of the regular season qualify for the CNFR.
The final rodeo of the 2022-23 Central Rocky Mountain Region is scheduled to take place April 28th-30th at the University of Wyoming.
The CNFR is scheduled to take place the week of June 11th through the 17th.
