Roger David Adams, 83, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at his home in Sheridan, WY, with his loving family by his side.
Roger was born on October 26, 1940, in Sheridan, WY to David and Allie Roene (Veach) Adams. Growing up near Sheridan, he attended grade school at Big Goose School and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1958. He served his country in the United States Navy as a Medical Technician for four years, returning to Sheridan to attend Sheridan College, where he met his wife, Mary. He graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1969 with a degree in Agricultural Business and went to work for Hormel Foods in Austin, MN. He worked for them for 32 years across four Midwestern states, ending his career as a Supervisor in the Cure 81 Ham Department in Fremont, NE. He retired to Sheridan with his wife in 2001 and built a home with a view of his beloved Big Horn Mountains.
Roger enjoyed hunting, backpacking and fishing in the Big Horn Mountains with his brothers, children and friends. He was hardworking, loved his vegetable garden and took pride in his landscaping and roses.
His greatest joy in life came from his family, especially his Children and Grandchildren. He took pride in their accomplishments and shared with them his passion for fishing, gardening and a love of the outdoors.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents David and Roene Adams and his brother Larry Adams. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Mary Louise “Junior” Adams, his children Colby David (Karin) Adams and Rochelle Louise (Tim)Vogt, and his grandchildren Camden David Adams, Keaton John Adams, and Ellowyn Louise Vogt. Also survived by his brothers; Rod (Jane) Adams, Warren (Deb) Adams, his nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Elks Lodge 520, 45 W. Brundage with Pastor Karl Heimbuck officiating.
Memorials to honor Roger may be given to your favorite charity.
