The College Rodeo Season concludes this weekend in Laramie.

The Central Rocky Mountain Region consists of 10 rodeos half of which took place last fall and the other half were this spring.

Competitors earn points based on what place they finish in at each rodeo, and the top 3 in each event after this weekend qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo.

One Sheridan College cowboy is already in the CNFR, another is right on the bubble, and Coach Marc Gilkerson says a couple others have a shot if they can get some help.

“We’re finishing strong. Clancy won the region in the Bronc riding. I got Wyatt Phelps is just right out of it in the bull riding in the 4th place position. Joe Prebe is out of it in the Bronc riding by a little bit and then another bull rider, Tipton Wilson, has an outside chance to get in. If them bull riders can get something rode this weekend, then they might get a chance to get into the College Finals.”

The 2023 CNFR is scheduled to take place in mid-June in Casper.
