Johnson County’s Commissioners have approved a contract with Y2 Consultants, LLC of Jackson to develop the county’s Natural Resource Plan.

The Wyoming State Legislature provided $50,000 each in funding for counties to develop and revise their natural resource management plans, which serve as a basis for communicating and coordinating with the federal government and its agencies on land and natural resource management issues.

County natural resource plans will identify objectives and priorities for the use, development, and protection of natural resources and land in the state.

The only change from the draft agreement sent by Y2 was that once the plan is completed, the data will become property of the county, which the company agreed to.

According to discussions, the completion of the project is expected in the fall of this year.
