Hospital Board OKs Funding to Complete Construction

The Hospital Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center approved $5.7 million to complete the current construction project at the facility.
The board, at their Wednesday meeting, got an update from Dan Odasz with Plan One Architects on the designs for Phases 1A and 1B, which are currently under construction.
Phase One of the project will remodel the ICU/Inpatient area, the nurses station, and supporting spaces of the hospital.
The board approved a change in design of Phase Two, which will add on to the southwest portion of building to house the physical therapy department, freeing up the current P/T space to be remodeled and utilized by another department, possibly adding a service the facility currently does not offer.
Also approved was an upgrade to the canopy at the main entrance to add snow bars to keep snow from falling onto cars and/or pedestrians underneath.
The board approved the project to be completed immediately for a cost of just under $11,000.
