The Johnson County Rural Health Care board has voted to approve the purchase of land from the Johnson County Fire District.

The board, at their meeting in Kaycee Monday night, discussed the land purchase of land adjacent to the county fire hall for $80,000 for a proposed building to house an ambulance barn.

Board member Jim Hicks spoke in favor of the purchase.

The board has been looking at various locations over the last few years to build a proposed ambulance barn, and has recently focused on the fire hall property, believing it to be a better location than the current site at Harness Funeral Home.

After further discussion by the board, the vote was taken with Marie Miller the only member voting against the purchase.
