Children, Horses, and Adults in PartnerShip, better known as CHAPS, has received some major gifts from foundations in December. The LaRue Young Foundation in Sheridan gifted the organizations funds to pay for the 2020 lease of their current facility as well as funds to scholarship youth with disabilities. The Johnson Foundation of the Rockies gave CHAPS funding for operational purposes as well as seed money for an endowment fund. Once again, the Seidler Foundation donated funds for scholarships in 2020. The Newell B Sargent Foundation of Casper gifted funds to provide scholarships for at risk youth and clients with disabilities.
Other organizations that contributed include the Joe F. and Roberta H. Napier Foundation, the William F. and Lorene W. Welch Foundation, and the Standish Family Foundation all from Sheridan. MDU Resources Foundation in North Dakota was listed as well. Veteran scholarship monies have been gifted to CHAPS by the Veteran Support Foundation and the Marna M Kuehne Foundation. CHAPS Executive Director Kristin Marcus said that nearly 200 individual veterans were served in 2019. Many other organizations and individuals have donated to keep their non profit operating into the next year. If you would like to learn more or donate, visit www.chapswyo.org.
