AP NewsWyoming Gov. Mark Gordon said Thursday (September 9th) that he has asked the state’s attorney general to be prepared to challenge President Joe Biden’s new COVID-19 vaccine mandate, which he called an “egregious example of big government overreach.”
“I have asked the Attorney General to stand prepared to take all actions to oppose this administration’s unconstitutional overreach of executive power. It has no place in America. Not now, and not ever,” Gordon said in a statement on the mandate.
Gordon and his wife are both vaccinated, which he has talked about, but he has stressed that vaccination is an “intensely personal” decision.
While he issued a statewide mask mandate during the winter COVID-19 surge, Gordon has vowed not to issue any vaccine mandates.
Earlier this year, he issued an executive order barring state agencies or facilities from requiring “vaccine passports.”
It’s not clear how Biden’s mandate could impact a draft bill aimed at prohibiting businesses from requiring vaccinations.
It requires employers to make “reasonable accommodations” for unvaccinated workers like those included in the Americans with Disabilities Act.
About 36% of the state is fully vaccinated.
Hospitalizations and active cases in Wyoming are near where they were during the winter peak of the disease.

I applauded the governor for taking this stand against the presidents vaccine mandate. If only 36% of wyomingites have been vaccinated, it means that the large majority, 64%, have a big voice in what happens in this state.

Gordo is once again putting politics above saving lives. He’s a coward, afraid to lead, afraid to counter the party line. He has blood on his hands.

Listening to Biden’s dictates last Thursday regarding the unvaccinated was reminiscent of hitler discussing the Jewish population of 1930s Germany. Fascism does not belong in America, its not who we are.

The most appropriate example of Fascist behavior I have seen recently was the Brown shirts who attempted to overthrow our government at the behest of people promoting a big lie on January 6th.

ROFLMAO– sounds like Trump Derangement Syndrome to me. Biggest example of treason i have seen ever was Biden leaving americans and our afghan friends to die in country. Pathetically saying ‘the buck stops here’ and then blaming everyone in sight. It is no surprise that the COVID response is a failure.

What utter nonsense. Your comparison makes no sense.

How did we manage to elect a Gov who is clearly illiterate? If you refuse to be vaccinated you can opt to be tested on a weekly basis, sounds like the definition of reasonable accommodation to me. Please Gov Gordan, unbunch your panties and don’t get us involved in yet another silly law suit that flies in the face of precedent which has clearly established the governments right and duty to protect the public in times of emergency. And while we’re on the subject, when are you going to take into account the feelings of the majority of Americans who are vaccinated and are primarily concerned about protecting our children from the reckless behavior of covidiots (remember that Delta variant has increased the infection rate among children 5 fold in the last 2 weeks).

Gordo represent WYOMING, not the USA…. The people of WYOMING are by and large against forced vaccination. Thank-You Gordo for having common sense.

I take it you are also illiterate- that’s not what Biden said. Why don’t you move somewhere where people don’t care about the fate of their children and grandchildren- there you can all collect your Darwin Awards together and the human race will be much improved by your removal from the gene pool.

I dont like Biden’s mandates but i do think everyone should get vaxxed depending our your medical situation and religious convictions. What sickens me is : When TRUMP was helping create the vaxx both BIDEN and HARRIS said they WOULD NOT TAKE IT. Please note that BIDEN and HARRIS were the first in line to take it. Now they seem shocked that people are reluctant to take it, many of the African Americans.

What they saidd was they’d take when Fauci said it was safe, he did and they did (as did I).

And I think it is safe to say that a large group of american people DO NOT trust Fauci hence the problem. Double talk, contradictions CDC and Pres saying different things often opposite. BIDEN/HARRIS built this!

And 9 months of brain washing by Tucker Carlson et al has nothing to do with that distrust? By the way- you do know that all Fox news staff are vaccinated as a condition of employment.

No vax requirement to hire on at the CDC, or for members of congress. Interesting, don’t you think?

Don’t recall that, ray. Fauci has been untrustworthy since day one, as has team Biden.

Covid cases are spiking in Wyoming. We have the lowest vaccination rate in the country. It’s sheer lunacy to oppose an action that would clearly save lives. Gordo is once again putting his own political future ahead of doing what is best for Wyoming citizens. Shameful.

Please do your research.. The
Pfizer vaccine is not FDA approved/licensed. It is only EUA approved. Comirnaty is the only one that was licensed, and you cannot get it in Pharmacies. They say that Pfizer and Comirnaty have mostly the same ingredients and are the same, but they are not. Pfizer has no legal liability if something happens to a loved one, but the Comirnaty does because it is licensed. The FDA website on page 9 states that a EUA vaccines cannot be made mandatory. You have the right to refuse. Governor Gordon is right in protecting people’s rights. If one wants to take the vaccine, then they have the right to do so. However, one also may not want to be a laboratory rat.

Biden is not ordering shoots- if you want to opt out you will be subject to weekly testing, if you won’t take even that compromise then who’s side are you on in this battle? I would prefer that my grandchildren not die from a disease that is preventable if not for people like you.

Ray Olson, they are not giving everyone that option. In some cases, you need to get the jab or quit. If you are a believer, then you know that every hair on your head is numbered. A shot cannot prevent anyone’s time of death no matter what the cause is. The shot can’t save us…God does.

Its not s cure, and people who have been vaccinated are getting it, and sometimes dying. Israel is almost 100% vaccinated, yet other countries like Sweden have banned Israeli citizens from entering their countries. Why is that?

Interesting how getting a vaccine is an “intensely private” decision, Gordon and the other rightwing folks phrase it, but abortion is a matter of public debate and even, in Texas (so far) an opportunity for unlicensed bounty hunters to stalk women.

Olivia Cupant, this has nothing to do with a political stance. It has to do with people’s rights. If you want to take the jab, then you can do so at your own risk. I for one know of quite a few deaths already from them. Just like a child in the womb, they should have rights, too. You may not agree, but it’s my belief.

Ray Olson, one is from the FDA website/ Fact Sheet for Healthcare Providers Administering Vaccine…The other one is on the Pfizer BioNTech website/Vaccine Information Sheet for Recipients and Caregivers about Comirnaty…Be sure to read the footnote at the bottom of each/front page.
