Due to cancellation of Third Thursday the P.E.O. is offering raffles tickets via phone

This month’s Third Thursday has been cancelled due to rainy weather conditions. Due to this, Philanthropic Educational Organization member Penny Becker will sell tickets for their dollar basket raffle over the phone. 

Founded by seven members in secret in 1869, the Philanthropic Educational Organization’s mission is to promote educational opportunities for women, through philanthropy of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. The P.E.O. Sisterhood sponsors six international philanthropies, or projects, designed to assist women with their educational goals.

Now with thousands of members and spanning the world, the P.E.O. operates and fundraises for multiple scholarships, grants and loan opportunities for women to utilize for higher education needs.

Becker is a 20-year member of the P.E.O. On Aug. 10, she told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse that Sheridan has five chapters of the P.E.O. operating in the community. 

To help raise funds that will go to assisting women with their financial needs to further their education, Becker’s P.E.O. Chapter is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win baskets full of high priced prizes. 

The baskets prizes range from $50 to $500, including wine and coffee baskets. Other examples include the Powder Horn golf basket that includes two nights and meals for two and another basket offers The Bighorn Mountain getaway to Bear Lodge which will remain valid into 2022.
