Wyoming Workforce Services will be hosting a virtual career fair on April 27 and 28, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this career fair had to be canceled last year. Wyoming Workforce Services has decided this year to take the career fair to the virtual world.

According to Wyoming Department of Workforce Services Employment Services Specialist Sally Thomas, the job fair will have many different types of employers looking to get to know job seekers all via Zoom.

Job seekers can also create an account and log into the department’s website, Wyoming Workforce, found here. According to Thomas, there are currently 500 jobs posted on the site.

Posted times for the virtual career fair are subject to change, to keep tabs and learn how to register for the Zoom event, check out the Sheridan Workforce Center Facebook page as the event date draws near.

Should job seekers wish to change a career field, there are training opportunities available, Thomas said. Job seekers can find much more information on those opportunities by visiting the Sheridan Workforce Center located at 247 East Grinnell St. Suite #200.

According to Thomas, Sheridan’s unemployment rate as of January was 5.2%. The Sheridan office currently has many full and part time as well as temporary jobs available in the mining industry.
