County EOC Reports COVID Cases Down

During the weekly Johnson County COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center media briefing Tuesday, it was reported that the number of cases of COVID-19 in the county and the state is trending downward, which they were pleased to see.
JCHC CEO Sean McCallister explained that the drop in cases is not necessarily because of fewer tests being performed.
According to Robin King, with Johnson County Public Health, the number of active COVID cases in the county last week was 20.
The first shipments of vaccine for the virus has been delivered to the hospital and to public health, and vaccinations of front line healthcare providers began at the healthcare center on Monday with about 20 vaccinations given to staff members.
