Pat BlairWith six Republican candidates seeking two spots on the Sheridan County commission, it appears that incumbent Tom Ringley and Lonnie J. Wright will advance to the general elections in November.
Ringley received more than 3,600 votes and Wright over 2,700 in Tuesday’s primary elections. No Democrats ran for the commission, but voters in the Democratic primaries cast 203 write-in votes.
Write-in votes are only counted on election night, but Sheridan County Clerk Eda Schunk Thompson said the write-ins will be more closely tallied during Thursday’s vote canvas.
Any Democratic candidate who receives enough write-in votes will be offered a chance to have his or her name placed on the ballot in November.
