City of Buffalo Closes Outdoor Pool for Season
The City of Buffalo has announced it will close the outdoor pool in Washington Park for the remainder of the season.
The city said in a release from Tuesday, “Reluctantly, the City of Buffalo is closing the outdoor pool for the remainder of the 2020 season. Given the short remainder of the season following the closure on Wednesday, August 5th and a shortage of available staff, reopening the pool this season is simply not feasible.”
They also wanted to “thank the Pool Board for its efforts in operating the pool in challenging times, and thank all the lifeguards, concession staff, and public works employees for their work and dedication to the outdoor pool.”
The pool was closed August 5th after an employee there tested “presumptively positive” for COVID-19, and remained closed until Tuesday’s announcement.
