Tongue River Fire District Crews Put Out Structure Fire In Parkman

At 5:34am on Wednesday, January 7th, the Tongue River Fire District responded to a report of a structure fire at 31 Railway Street in Parkman, Wyoming.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a secondary structure fully engulfed in flames.

The primary residence was threatened, but sustained no damage due to aggressive firefighting efforts.

Crews also successfully protected a second outbuilding located within five feet of the burning structure.

Multiple agencies provided mutual aid during the incident, including Sheridan Fire-Rescue, Dayton Fire Department, Wyoming Regional EMS, and the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office.

The coordinated response and assistance from neighboring departments were instrumental in preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent structures.

“Thanks to the quick response of our firefighters and the excellent mutual aid support from our partner agencies, we were able to contain this fire and prevent it from spreading to the main residence and nearby structures,” said Chief Jeff Barron. “This incident demonstrates the importance of our regional cooperation and the dedication of all our first responders who answered the call in the early morning hours.”

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Tongue River Fire District thanks all responding agencies for their rapid assistance and professionalism during this incident.
