YMCA to Offer Nordic Skiing Course

Executive Director of the Sheridan County YMCA, Liz Cassiday announced a partnership with Black Mountain Nordic has allowed for the development of a new Nordic skiing course at the Y.

The new program is a week introductory Nordic skiing course in a small group setting with ski instructors working on confidence, balance and Nordic skiing fundamentals. 

The course is for children ages 9 – 12 years (4th and 5th Grade). The YMCA is also taking the lack of snow into account, but Cassiday said when the snow flies, they will be ready.

The course is scheduled to begin on Jan. 14, and all ski gear is provided by the Sheridan County YMCA through grant funding.
