Buffalo Council OK’s Loan Application for Burritt Ave. Water Main

Buffalo’s City Council voted to approve a State Revolving Fund loan application for the proposed Burritt Avenue Water Main replacement and Sewer Main replacement projects.

Mayor Shane Schrader held a Public Hearing but no public comment was offered.

After closing the hearing, Mayor Schrader detailed the proposed project.

Councilwoman Myra Camino explained that the city would be putting a proposal on the ballot in August of 2026, asking taxpayers to approve a specific purpose sales tax to repay the loan.

If the ballot initiative fails, she said the city would then have to raise water rates to repay the loan.

The council passed Resolution No.1498.
