Buffalo Council Approves Requests for Light Up Buffalo Events

Buffalo’s City Council considered requests for a street closure and variances for a fireworks display this weekend in conjunction with the lighted Christmas Parade and Chili Feed in Crazy Woman Square.

Buffalo FFA will be sponsoring the Light Up Buffalo event, as discussed by FFA member Brooklyn Shultz and Buffalo Mayor Shane Schrader.

According to discussion, the FFA will need the park all day on December 6 to set up the fireworks display, and then will be back on Sunday, December 7 to clean up the park.

Mayor Schrader reminded the FFA that Fire Chief Gomer Gammon and Police Chief Sean Bissett would still have the power to cancel the fireworks display should weather or other factors make it dangerous to allow.

The council voted to approve the display with that condition.
