The final plat for the 31.8 acre Elmwood Estates subdivision located on the 900 block of East 5th Street in Sheridan received unanimous approval by the Sheridan City Council Monday night. City Planner Kelly Schroeder says the City’s Future Land Use Map from 2017 indicates that the area is appropriate for residential use and the proposed development of the area includes multi-family residential, which is consistent with the future vision for the area.

Schroeder said there are no minimum lot size or density requirements for the B-1 Business District and that setback, height, and parking requirements will be addressed at the time of a building permit application for any of the lots. Schroeder added that the property is located in the City’s Entryway Corridor, which contains certain architectural and landscaping requirements that will also be addressed at the time of a building permit and that no open space is required as part of the subdivision, as it is not located within a residential zone district.

Wow, little to no rules. Congratulations City Council, you just got us a cookie cutter, sardined, vehicle stuffed street subdivision for the tourist welcome drive. Kickbacks must have been good.
