Sheridan Regional Black Bear Meeting Dec. 1

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is reminding the public the Sheridan Regional Office will host a public meeting on Dec. 1, to gather public input and answer questions regarding proposed changes to Chapter 3, Black Bear Hunting Seasons.

This meeting will be held at the Wyoming Game and Fish Department Sheridan Regional Office at 700 Valley View Dr. beginning at 5 p.m.

During the meeting, large carnivore biologists, along with local wildlife managers, will review proposed black bear season dates, annual female mortality limits or other possible changes to hunting season structures.

Copies of the proposed regulations are available on the Game and Fish website and at the Sheridan Game and Fish office.

This meeting is the one to attend for anyone with an interest in hunting black bear according to Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt.

The public is encouraged to attend and submit comments. Written comments will be accepted through 5 p.m. on Dec. 8, 2025. Public comments will be shared with the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission prior to its January 2026 meeting in Cheyenne.
