Jo Co Commission OK’s Amendment to Treatment Court Funding Contract

An amended contract between Johnson County and the Wyoming Judicial Branch was discussed by the commission and County Attorney Tucker Ruby, who gave them details on the amendment.

According to courts.state.wy.us, the Wyoming Legislature provides funding for treatment courts under the Court Supervised Treatment Programs Act. These specialized courts combine judicial supervision with treatment and monitoring to reduce recidivism, or the tendency to re-offend, and promote sobriety among participants.

The commission voted to accept the amended contract.
