SC YMCA seeking male camp counselors

Sheridan County YMCA Executive Director Liz Cassiday told Sheridan Media, the Y is looking for active, fun-loving male camp counselors.
Last year, the Sheridan County YMCA was short on female camp counselors before the beginning of the camp season. Cassiday reached out and Sheridan County answered the call. This year, the Y is searching for a few more male camp counselors to join the team.
Camp counselors are more than just chaperons watching over campers as they enjoy their summer season. They are teachers, mentors and make long lasting positive impacts on the lives of children.

The job of camp counselor also guarantees a summer job that is anything but routine. The position provides plenty of time outside and the chance to mentor children while they learn safe and time tested techniques on taking full advantage of living in the Bighorn Mountains.
According to the YMCA, being a camp counselor offers numerous advantages, including personal growth, valuable skill development, and a chance to positively impact children’s lives. It’s a rewarding experience that fosters leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities, all while enjoying the great outdoors and making lasting memories.
