Buffalo Council Gives Stopgap Funding for Recycling Center

The Buffalo City Council approved additional funding for the Buffalo-Johnson County Recycling Center to help keep them afloat for the rest of this fiscal year until Optional One-Cent Funds are allocated later this spring and distributed in July.
Bill Ostheimer with the recycling center joint powers board discussed the issue with the city council.
The county commission approved funding of $10,000 and also allocated an additional $5,000 if needed before one percent funds become available, contingent upon the City of Buffalo contributing a matching amount.
The city council voted to allocate $5,000 in additional funding from the city for the recycling center.
