Ron RichterGovernor Mark Gordon joined 21 Republican Governors for a meeting with President-elect Trump in Florida on Thursday. Governor Gordon and the other governors expressed concern about federal overreach under President Biden, and a desire to cooperate with the incoming Trump administration on natural resource issues and energy policy. Governor Gordon also shared with the President-elect that Wyoming – like other states – has seen drone incursions over critical infrastructure, which Governors recognize as a national security concern.
Gordon issued a statement about the meeting by saying that President-elect Trump has once again demonstrated that he recognizes states’ rights and understands many of the issues facing Western states and that his leadership shift will bring positive benefits to our energy, mining, agriculture, tourism and business sectors. Gordon added that it was so good to be with his Republican colleagues and that he’s eager to partner with the Trump Administration to ensure Wyoming’s perspective is considered when developing policies that impact how our lands and resources are developed.
