The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce has developed the Sheridan Area Employee Relief Fund to help working families during the COVID-19 restrictions.

With donations and pledges from private individuals, foundations and local businesses, the relief fund has raised approximately $280,000.

The fund was created in March as a way to provide gap funding for Sheridan’s workforce households to purchase necessities like food, gas, rent, utilities and other expenses during the COVID-19 crisis.

The fund has already distributed approximately $163,000 in relief through 630 approved applications to Sheridan area workers in approximately a month’s time.

During an appearance on Public Pulse, Chamber CEO Dixie Johnson thanked those residents, businesses and foundations for their generous donations to the relief fund and reminded the public that funds are still available.

Designed to aid in the relief of the Sheridan area workforce, approved applicants are eligible for $500 and may reapply for the funds every 30 days. Applications can be found at www.sheridanwyomingchamber.org.
