County Allocates $600K in One-Percent Funds

Johnson County’s Commissioners spent a good portion of their meeting this week discussing the applications for Optional One Percent Sales Tax funding from county entities, and allocated $600,000 in available funding.
Allocations included $190,000 for road projects and a replacement truck for County Road and Bridge; $50,000 for various projects at the county fairgrounds; $72,000 for equipment for the sheriff’s office; $34,000 for upgrades to the Jim Gatchell Museum building; and $70,000 for operations at the recycling center, among other allocations.
The county received $1.25 million in one-percent funding requests this year, but had $600,000 available to distribute.
