Ron RichterA Texas man was recently arraigned in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
An arraignment hearing was held for Ravaughn Hobbs of Fort Worth, Texas. Hobbs pleaded not guilty to one count of unauthorized use of personal identifying information. According to court documents, Hobbs allegedly used the social security number, birthdate, and address of an individual in Sheridan to rent an apartment in Texas. The victim filed a report with the Sheridan Police Department on February 20, 2024 after being notified by Lifelock that their credit score had dropped by 100 points due to non-payment of approximately $3,226 to Westcreek Apartments in Fort Worth, Texas.
District Court Judge Ben Kirven scheduled a three-day jury trial to begin February 10, 2025. A pretrial conference will be held January 9 at 9 am. If convicted, Hobbs faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
Also from the District Court docket, 31-year-old Arika Wurth pleaded not guilty to the charge of felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, for being in possession of an amount greater than three grams. Wurth also entered a not guilty plea to the charge of misdemeanor marijuana possession. District Court Judge Darci Phillips scheduled a two-day jury trial to begin February 12, 2025. A pretrial conference will be held January 16 at 9:30 am. If convicted on both charges, Wurth faces up to 8 years in prison and fines of up to $16,000.
