AARP Wyoming Veteran’s Golf Tournament returns to Sheridan

AARP Wyoming State President Stella Montano and Executive board member Clearance Montano stopped by Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to announce the return of the AARP Wyoming Veteran’s Golf Tournament.
Founded in 2019, this unique golf tournament paired golfers from the Sheridan community with veterans from all over the Nation who have traveled to receive care at the Sheridan VA.
The tournament partners three members of the Sheridan community with a veteran to make up a four person team. According to the Montanos, the experience of getting to know each other resulted in new friendships and therapeutic experiences for many of the vets who took part in the first tournament.

Although a success, the Montanos had to place the tournament on the shelf due to the COVID-19 crisis in 2020.
The tournament has returned for the 2024 year. The 18 hole tournament will have an 8 a.m. check-in time with the shotgun beginning at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 23, at the Kendrick Golf Course.

The Montanos are still looking for community members to join the teams and golf with the servicemen and women who have sacrificed so much to defend the freedoms of the Nation.
If you wish to take time and golf with a veteran contact Clearance Montano at 307-752-1821.
