cvannoyThe Fourth Annual Ice Cream Social and Silent auction to benefit the Clearmont Historical Center was held on Sunday, August 4, at the Branding Iron Park in Clearmont. The event drew a large crowd of people coming to enjoy the ice cream, and maybe find a bargain at the silent auction table.
Clearmont Historical Group President Robert Prusak talked about the social.
He added that they also have a history dig for the youngsters, and a ball toss for whoever wanted to try their luck. And, of course, free ice cream.
Also attending the social were representatives from the local AARP, who had a table with information about what AARP offers. Stella Montano, state AARP president had this to say about the ice cream social.
The ice cream social was started in 2021, when Ira Roadifer, Historical Group Member, thought it sounded like a good idea for a hot summer day. For the first one, Roadifer hand churned the ice cream, but he decided not to carry on that tradition.
Upcoming events from CHG include the Fall Colors Tour along the Powder River coming up on September 21. For more information contact the Clearmont Historical Center 758-4685.
