The Board of Trustees for the Johnson County School District, at their regular meeting Monday in Kaycee, voted to approve the purchase of a Chevrolet crew-cab truck for the Transportation Department, to be used as a mechanic’s vehicle.

Trustee Lynette Fox made the motion to approve the purchase.

According to the report from Transportation Director Bill McKenzie, the bus mechanic service truck to be added to the district’s fleet of vehicles will mean the transportation department will be able to better support student travel across the district.

The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) will reimburse JCSD1 for what he called “a crucial piece of equipment.”

According to discussion at the meeting, the truck will be purchased from Newcastle Motors Chevrolet.
