The Sheridan College Symphony Band & Brass Ensembles, directed by Dr. Eric Richards, will present their first concert of the Spring 2024 semester, with “AMERICANA for Wind Band: Classic & New.”
The concert, free and open to the public, will be on Sunday, March 17, at 4 p.m. in Kinnison Hall at the Whitney Center for the Arts.
During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Richards explained the importance of folk themes in many music genres and the roots of which are recognized by many musicians.

According to Richards, the band will also perform songs by Robert Russell Bennet, Frank Ticheli, and John Philip Sousa. The concert will also feature performances by the Sheridan College Trombone Choir and the Sheridan College Brass Quintet.
