Halloween for the kids is still well over a week away, but the adults and establishments in the city will begin hosting as soon as this weekend.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan Police Department Captain Tom Ringley shared tips to stay safe while trick or treating with the kids, but also wished to address the adults in the community.
Ringley emphasized the SPD does not condemn drinking and having a good time, but simply wishes everyone who does participate in consuming alcohol have a plan in place to ensure a safe trip home.

The SPD Captain suggested keeping a few dollars in your pocket just in case you find yourself at an establishment without a ride home. If one is planning to walk home, ensure clothing is warm and one isn’t so intoxicated they become a risk to themselves or others.
