Investment of State Funds

Two pieces of legislation are working their way through the 2020 Budget Session of the 65th Wyoming Legislature that would authorize investment of state funds for a specific criteria of real estate appropriations. Local Senator Dave Kinskey explained why the bills are being heard this session.
House Bill 249 and Senate File 138 would authorize the State to get involved as a potential buyer of the land but Senator Kinskey said that the passage of the measures would not guarantee anything.
Both bills have passed 3rd reading in their house of origin. Kinskey and local Senator Bo Biteman voted in favor of the Senate File. On the House side, the local delegation was split with Representatives Mark Kinner and Cyrus Western in favor and Mark Jennings and Richard Tass opposed.
