Wyoming Game and Fish have announced the first spring stocking of fish in community ponds in the Sheridan area took place May 5.
Game and Fish stocked fish in the following locations with catchable-size Eagle Lake rainbow trout: Mavrakis and Ranchester City ponds received 250 fish, the Sheridan Fairgrounds Pond received 100 fish and Big Goose Creek within Kendrick Park received 125 fish.
With the spring boating season, watercraft inspection stations are expanding days and hours of operations in May. Open stations are prominently marked with road signs. The department reminds boaters that all watercraft traveling into Wyoming from March 1-Nov. 30, must be inspected prior to launching in Wyoming.
Boaters must stop at any open AIS check station they pass with their watercraft while traveling to or from their boating destination. There are two new check stations at Newcastle and Manville this year, as well as new watercraft regulations at LAK Reservoir near Newcastle.
