Buffalo Council Saves By Changing Health Insurance Provider

Buffalo’s City Council, at their regular meeting this week, voted to change health insurance providers for city employees.
According to Mayor Shane Schrader, the city will be moving from Blue Cross/Blue Shield to Cigna, and keep the employee’s deductible at $3,500 per year.
In a later interview, Schrader explained that the city will save money by changing insurance providers.
Schrader said there are some understandable concerns from city employees about the change and how it might affect them and their families, but he said, “at the end of the day I think it will all work out.”
