Kinskey Addresses Buffalo Council on Legislative Session

State Senator Dave Kinskey (R-Sheridan) spoke with the Buffalo City Council at their recent meeting to discuss the legislative session that began this week in Cheyenne.
Kinskey discussed the $4 billion in additional funding projected to be available by the end of the biennium on June 30 of 2024.
Kinskey said he would like to see some of that additional funding go to property tax relief, in a form of a rebate to property owners in the state.
He talked about direct distribution funds for counties and cities, and how he would like to see smaller towns and poorer counties receive bigger portions of funding.
Kinskey wants to see the legislature resist the urge to spend because of the projected increase in funds for the state, and to not “dig a hole” for the future when funds become tighter.
Kinskey and City Councilman Mike Madden discussed how to help resolve the property tax problem, and we will have that in an upcoming story.
